Can this printer used sublimation ink

Thanks for your question! This printer is not designed for Sublimation Ink. The HP DesignJet T630 is designed to use HP 712 model inks. Sublimation is somewhat dangerous. You need specific inks that atomize at relatively low temperatures and then adhere to the desired object. OSHA would tell you that ventilation is critical. So HP only makes commercial-grade sublimation printers(HP Stitch). For home users, Waterslide paper is the best alternative. Print, seal with clear acrylic, and transfer with water (noting that post-transfer more coats of clear acrylic aren’t a bad idea for many applications) and you get basically identical results with less possible toxic exposure events. With Waterslide, or Iron-On, nearly every printer will work, just make sure you have the right paper for your printer type.

Our office had a HP Design Jet T520 24 inch printer that recently broke. I am told they are no longer available. What is the closest model for a replacement printer?

The DesignJet T630 would be the most similar model to the DesignJet T520. The biggest differences are the operating systems they support. The T630 does not support some of the older operating systems, but it is compatible with Windows 7 and MacOS 10.3.
