Excellent Investment
The newer block dock requires less space than the original docks. I have had no problems with connections, with device communication, or device recognition. My complaint or suggestion is to remove the DP ports and add more USB-A and USB-C ports. I had to add a USB hub for the rest of my connections.

Needs firmware update
When I first connected it to my laptop and connected my hubs to the dock, the laptop only saw one device from each hub. I checked HP's web site and found out that the dock had been delivered with out-of-date firmware. I downloaded and installed the latest dock firmware, after which everything was hunky-dory.
It's HP's job to make sure their devices are delivered with up-to-date firmware. HP failed to do that. The customer should not have to fix HP's failures.
Bottom line: device fine, HP failed.

Good Dock but pricey.
Good Dock but pricey, also larger than normal due to higher power output. We also had an issue with ASUS Pro Art Monitors connected to this dock using Display Port to Display Port cables (monitors kept connecting / disconnecting). Display Port to HDMI worked without issues, however this may be a Windows 11 issue and not a hardware issue.

Looking for a Docking station for my new HP 6G957UT#ABA Zbook G9. What's the difference between this and the 120w version - only power? I'm looking at supporting multiple or one large screen curved monitor....what do you reccomend?
Thank you for your question! Yes, the power provided for charging is the difference. The 120W version can support up to 100W of charging power whereas the 280W version can support up to 250W. Same question as everyone else (wouldn't it be a good idea just to have a list of supported laptops?). Is the HP ZBook Fury 16 G9 supported for this dock and will it be able to charge the laptop?
There are over 30 different ZBook Fury G9's that fall under that product designation. If your laptop has a Thunderbolt Port then it will need a Thunderbolt Dock. A ZBook Fury G9 usually has a Thunderbolt port and this will be the dock that is needed. If your Fury has a USB-C port it needs PowerDelivery and DisplayPort. Most USB-C ports on the Fury will have this designation and then a USB-C Dock is your best option. If your Fury has an AMD processor then it more than likely will have a USB-C port. Hope this helped, if not please resubmit your question with the laptop product number if the laptop is a US product. The product number will be found on the bottom of the PC. Hello Patrick and thank you for your question! Without the precise model number, it is impossible to determine with 100% accuracy which ZBook you have and what ports it has. However, most ZBook G7 Notebooks feature Thunderbolt ports making it compatible with this Dock. If your ZBook does not feature Thunderbolt then the USB-C/A Dock will be recommended.

Hi I have this docking station HP Inc Thunderbolt Dock 280W G4 w/Combo Cable and connected to a Z Fury laptop. When I shut-down my laptop, any device connected to the docking station remains powered on. Is that normal ? Any way to shut down total.
