    Thank you for your question! This HP USB-C Dock G5 will indeed be compatible with the HP Elitebook 840 G6. The provided power supply may still be needed to provide charging if you don't have the correct USB-C port for power delivery. The support of two 4K monitors is dependent upon the Graphics Card of the laptop. If the laptop can support it then this dock will support it.

    I have a HP Notebook 15-dy1079ms and I cannot get external monitors to work using the dock with HDMI or Display Port. The manual says to download drivers but the website doesn't have drivers. Looking for solutions to allow monitors to work with dock.

    No, this 15-dy2073dx will not be compatible with HP Docks. The USB-C port on this laptop supports data transfer only and does not support charging or external monitors. Docking stations will not be compatible.

However, if there is a symbol of a lightning bolt (Thunderbolt 3) next to the USB-C port, then you can use this port to charge and transfer a video signal. This port supports DisplayPort alt mode
